Our worship of God can easily become self-centred. It may seem strange, but its true! How can we worship God, but do it for selfish reasons? Isn’t worship, by nature, other-centred?
It is, but often the “other” we worship for is not God, but man. We pray, or fast or do spiritual things to be seen by others, but Jesus says you will get no reward for that. Our worship must be done in secret, and God, who sees in secret, will reward you in the open!
